Work experience reflection 

The work experience at Deakin University was eye-opening and helped me gain clarity about a career in scientific research. Through engaging activities and hands-on learning, I explored what life as a scientist is really like—something school alone couldn’t offer. 

Previous knowledge from the EVS biotechnology course was magically connected to real lab methods during the work experience. I especially enjoyed working in the chemistry lab, where I could apply my knowledge and see chemical reactions firsthand. 

This experience showed me how biotechnology, chemistry, physics, and engineering connect in exciting ways and sparked a deeper interest in pursuing science in the future.
