Developing the VM Patch
by Jessie N-S, Year 12 Student
The Year 12 Vocational Major (VM) students have been dedicated to transforming an unused and overgrown area of their school into a flourishing garden known as the VM Patch.
This hands-on project began with a compelling and convincing pitch to Principal Kellie Ind, where the students shared their vision of creating a vibrant space for the whole community to see.
Since the start of the project, the Y12 VM students have achieved a lot, from the recovery/removal stage to the planting stage where the VM student decided to plant winter vegetables including Peas, Beans, Carrots and Cabbages. We also visited Bunnings Box Hill to make mosaic garden stakes so we could identify the veggies.
It is now a waiting game until the veggies are ready to harvest.
