Senior Boys AFL:

In the thrilling Senior boy’s interschool AFL, 22 talented Year 11 and 12 boys took to the field, guided by their dedicated coach, Ms. Kertes, with the assistance of Mr. Deacon serving as the goal umpire.

Despite the cold and grey weather, the absence of rain allowed the game to proceed without interruption.  The team experienced three losses, one of which was a nail-bitingly close match, where they fell short by just 5 points.  However, they managed to secure an impressive victory.  Ultimately, it was Blackburn who emerged triumphant, claiming victory for the day. The BHHS boys showcased their determination and fought hard throughout the match, finding a perfect balance between competitiveness and enjoyment.  Fraser T, the team's skipper, stood out as 'Best on ground', displaying exceptional skills and leadership.  Additionally, Aiden S received an honourable mention for his remarkable speed and agility, while Moses T.M, impressed with his sheer strength and power.  The collective efforts of the team and their memorable performance made the match an event to remember.

Intermediate boys netball:

The Intermediate Boys Netball Competition was held at The Rings this year.  The competition was strong and highly competitive.  The 'A' team had a rocky start, down at the first half against Blackburn and coming back with a draw to finish the first game.  The second game was an easy win against East Doncaster, however the real nail biter was the decider match was against Koonung - it was a close match but in the end the winners and grinners were Box Hill High School who won by ONE POINT!

The boys will go through to play in the regionals in July.  The best on court players goes to Paddy H, Aaron D-M and Sam M.  The two 'B' teams were also very strong and winning most games on the day!  The best players on court for 'B team one' were Kelvin W, Heiran D-A and Louie H.  The best players on court for 'B team two' were Evan G and Leo R.

Junior Boys Netball

The Year 7 boys came in to save the day and fill the A and B netball teams when there was an unexpected clash with the Year 8 camp falling on the same day!   Luckily the year 7s rallied around to fill a team and managed to have a fun filled day playing against Blackburn, East Doncaster and Koonung Secondary College.  While they did not make it through to the next round, they had a combination of competitive games and friendly scratch matches to end the day.  The best on court for the A team went to Aman S, Hamish R and Sebastien G.  For the B team, best on court goes to Kartik G and James R.

Year 8 Girls Netball

I signed up to play interschool netball because I play netball outside of school and enjoy playing.  I made it into the A team. Overall it was a great experience.  My friends and I had a amazing time.  During the day we played 5 games and won 4.

I signed up because I play netball outside of school and it's my favourite sport. I made it to the B team, and we worked hard in all our games. As a team, we had a lot of fun during break and even more on the court. Even though we unfortunately didn’t win any of our games, it was a great opportunity to advance our skills. Thanks so much to Ms. Pearson and Ms. Danks for organizing everything!

Intermediate Boys Baseball

The Year 9/10 boys all represented Box Hill High School well during the Eastern Metro region Intermediate Boy's Baseball competition at Gilbert Park Reserve in Knoxfield on the 27th on April.  Each student demonstrated sportsmanship and a respect for all participants winning 3 games in their division and finishing Runners Up on the day.

Valuable skills were learnt on and off the field, in particular teamwork and the value of supporting teammates as challenges are faced. A huge thank you to the dedicated staff that planned and ran the competition that was enjoyed by all.
