Year 9 Student Achievements

Celebrating the amazing talent of our Year 9 student - inside and outside of school!

Deeksha and Gareema R

"My sister and I have been fortunate enough to be part of the highly esteemed Australian Girls Choir for an incredible seven years.  Our journey with the choir has been a truly remarkable and enriching experience.  In the past two years, we have had the privilege of becoming members of the prestigious senior level group called Camerata, an exclusive ensemble within the choir.  This incredible opportunity has opened doors for us to perform in a wide range of settings, from casual performances to professional gigs. Working alongside both established and emerging musicians has been a humbling and transformative experience, providing us with invaluable insights and skills in the ever-evolving music industry.  To our delight, this year we have been invited to be part of a remarkable specialist group called Danzare, which serves as the featured group of Camerata.  Collaborating with renowned choreographers such as Barbara Warren-Smith has been an absolute honour, allowing us to explore the intersection of music and dance in the most inspiring way".

Kallin D

Over the past few years, Kallin has been pursuing his passion for acting – both on stage and screen.  While you may have seen him on the school stage in our productions, don’t be surprised to see him on your television sets.  Kallin has recently been in advertisements for Lifeblood and for Samsung and continues to pursue his passion and refine his skills through his auditions which he gets to do 1-2 times each month.

Kallin has said that acting brings him joy, which is one of the most important aspects of participating in any type extra-curricular activity or job.  While the pay is good, Kallin acknowledges that the world of acting can be very hard due to its competitive nature – sometimes not getting a call-back or a role can be disappointing, but nevertheless, Kallin embodies our Year 9 theme of ‘resilience’ and continues to go after each role.  It is such a joy to speak with Kallin about his passion and see his enthusiasm come through in every word.  Make sure to keep an eye on your screens – it surely won’t be long until this talented student is a household name!
