LIKE MINDS - 2025

Our Like Minds classes in 2025 have demonstrated excellent energy and commitment to learning. Across the year, students participated in a range of extra-curricular activities designed to enhance their Enterprise Capabilities, including

• Big Day Out to Phillip Island to get to know each other and develop teamwork skills

• Flat Pack Furniture at Gipps Tech, developing Critical Thinking and Communication skills

• Compiling the Burra Flyer four times a year, which relies on effective communication and teamwork

• Enterprise Days and Student-led Celebration Evenings which promote presentation skills

• Write a Book in Day which hinges on sound Teamwork and Communication Skills.

Some highlights from the year have included;

• Producing four independent books in 10 hours for Write a Book in a Day

• Having two performances from ‘Violet and the Crumbles’, a Like Minds Band born from an Enterprise Project

• Solving an escape room at GTAC

• Running our Like Minds Market for Humanities, with all profits being donated to causes close to the students’ hearts

• Getting to know our new Year 7s, and watching our Year 8s embrace some public speaking opportunities on our celebration evenings

• Having the support of the past Like Minds students from Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 on our excursions, Enterprise Days and Celebration Evenings

• The dedication and encouragement offered by the Like Minds Mentors Susan Fawaz and Michael Knowles.

Well done to all students for their participation in the program this year. We are looking forward to seeing you all continue to contribute to the program in 2026.
