YEAR 7

YEAR 7 - 2025

It has been an exciting year for our 2025 Year 7 Students at Korumburra Secondary College. This cohort has proven to be a vibrant and enthusiastic group of learners, embracing their new environment with energy and adaptability. They also represent the largest cohort in the College with just on100 students.

A highlight early in the year was our February camp at Grantville Lodge. This experience offered students the chance to connect with peers and mentors through adventure activities such as canoeing, hut building, the giant swing, and the high ropes course. It was inspiring to see students encouraging one another and forming friendships that have continued to flourish throughout the year. Mr. Cronin’s spirited morning serenades were a prominent feature, with students even joining in on some 80’s classics—an enthusiasm that will serve them well on future Middle School camps!

Throughout the year, our Year 7 students have immersed themselves in a diverse range of learning opportunities. They have sculpted plaster animals in Art, baked muffins in Food Technology, investigated animal classification in Science, and explored future pathways in ACE. Their studies extended further into Japanese culture in LOTE, sign language in AUSLAN, and creative writing in English.

Students also embraced the spirit of competition, participating in their first KSC House events through swimming and athletics carnivals, as well as engaging in interschool sports and excursions to various destinations. It has been a busy, rewarding year, and each student should be proud of their accomplishments.

I would like to sincerely thank our Year 7 students, their families, and teachers for their commitment and support. Special recognition goes to our Year 7 mentors—Mr. Andrew, Ms. Burt, Ms. Strickland, Mr. Ellison, and Mr. Knowles—for their dedication and guidance throughout the year.
