VM-VCE - 2025

Over the two years of The Vocational Major,  students in VM-VCE engage in tasks that extend their Literacy, Numeracy, Personal Development and Work Related Skills. Much of this work is project based learning that are supported by the pillars of learning that allow student to flex their muscle in situations that would take place in life after school. From understanding the place of OHS, workplace environments/responsibilities and problem solving, investigating ideas of first aid, literacy in action, engaging with community, students use their skill to become increasingly life ready.

VM PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

Our VM students have had a busy and inspiring year, putting their learning into action through a range of community projects that showcased initiative, teamwork, and compassion.

As part of their Personal Development Skills studies, Year 12 students Rhiannon and Lily took the lead on a healthy eating initiative — a colourful and delicious smoothie stall! From sourcing ingredients and collecting orders to blending up nutritious creations for staff and fellow students, the duo promoted positive lifestyle choices in a fun, hands-on way. Their project was a huge hit and a wonderful example of student leadership in action.

The spirit of giving continued with a sausage sizzle and cupcake stall held on R U OK? Day, where VM students raised $199.59 in support of mental health awareness. Their efforts not only raised funds for this important cause but also encouraged meaningful conversations about wellbeing across our school community.

To wrap up their projects, the VM class organised a Year 12 Movie Night — a well-deserved opportunity for students to unwind together after a busy term. With pizza, hot chips, soft drinks, and plenty of laughter, everyone settled in to enjoy two student-voted favourites: 10 Things I Hate About You and Legally Blonde.

These projects reflect the values at the heart of the VM program — initiative, collaboration, and community connection. We’re so proud of the creativity and care our students have shown through every project this year!
