STUDENT LEADERS

ENHANCING LEADERSHIP SKILLS
Our Student Leaders participated in a range of opportunities this year to further develop and enhance their leadership skills.
We started the year with the GRIP Student Leadership Conference in Melbourne. This memorable day out is always full of energy and surprises and offers some fantastic activities for our student leaders to engage with.
We then followed up with four Student Leadership forums at school where students learnt about communication methods, delegation and organisation, and ways they could establish buy-in from other students when running projects.
Our School Captains represented the school at the Legacy ANZAC Day Service with aplomb. Laying a wreath and having the opportunity to explore the Shrine on this special occasion. Riley, Kiera, Holly and Marty were terrific captains who left a legacy of kindness, resilience and good humour at KSC. Thanks to each of them for their contributions.
Rhiannon Rawlins started our SRC as part of her project following her involvement with the Rural Youth Ambassadors, and our SRC contributed to a range of projects at the college this year including installation of the play equipment and suggestions for changes to school uniform. The SRC model Rhiannon has adopted is entirely student-led. We congratulate Rhiannon on the excellent job she has done in advocating for student voice at KSC, and wish her successors, Kiera, Jess, Dakota, Taylah and Amelia all the best as they continue to work between the school leadership team and the student body.
SRC Members 2026
Our Kwong Lee Dow Scholar this year was Phoebe Ye, who enjoyed her time Melbourne University getting to know many other students from across Victoria.
Pyjama day was a great success, raising over $600 for the Make a Wish Foundation. Congratulations to Nat, Phoebe, Emma, Georgia and Naomi for their initiative and hard work. We also raised over $400 for MND Victoria with our Sports Colours Day that was enjoyed by everyone. Well done to Taylah, Jess, Kiera and Amelia for their organisation.
Our school council has two elected student representatives each year. This year Holly and Rhiannon were our elected members, and we thank them both for their time and insights, as well as all the Captains who attended on rotation.
If you are interested in student leadership in 2026, keep an eye out for opportunities via the Compass Newsfeed. You can contribute as an SRC Rep, a House Captain or engage with any of our other opportunities during the year.
