Year 10 Report

Keele Hillas

What an incredible way to begin the year! It has been absolutely fantastic welcoming our Year 10 students back to school and seeing the energy, enthusiasm and maturity they have brought into 2026.

For those who may be new to the year level, my name is Miss Hillas (Keele Hillas) and I am very excited to be returning as Year 10 Year Level Leader this year. It is such a privilege to continue working alongside this cohort as they step further into their senior years. Watching their growth from junior school into confident young leaders has already been a highlight.

A huge congratulations to all students who participated in our Swimming Carnival. The house spirit, encouragement, determination and positive participation on the day were outstanding. Whether students were competing in the pool, cheering from the sidelines, or stepping outside their comfort zone to give an event a go, the level of involvement was something to be proud of. It was a wonderful reflection of our school values in action.

Year 10 is an important and exciting year. Students are beginning to think more seriously about pathways, subject choices and future goals. One of the major highlights ahead is Work Experience, which provides students with an invaluable opportunity to explore career interests, develop independence and build workplace confidence. We encourage families to begin conversations early about possible placements.

We are also very much looking forward to our Melbourne Camp later in the year. This experience will not only strengthen connections within the cohort but also challenge students to step into new environments, build resilience and create memories that will stay with them well beyond Year 10.

As we move through 2026, our focus will remain on fostering connection, encouraging personal growth and supporting each student to strive for their personal best. Year 10 is a year of opportunity — academically, socially and personally — and I am excited to see the goals this group sets and achieves.

Here’s to a year filled with growth, challenge, laughter and success. Let’s make 2026 one to remember!

A huge congratulations to our winners of week 1's student of the week.
