First Nations Report

Patricia Fox

Welcome back to 2026! I am so excited to once again lead this incredible mob of First Nations students as we continue striving for success in our schooling and culture here at Woodmans Hill Secondary College.

This year has started with wonderful energy, especially as we welcome many new students into our community. With around 30 students now part of our Yarning Circle, our mob continues to grow in strength, culture and connection. It has been fantastic to see new and familiar faces come together so naturally.

In Week 2, we held our first Yarning Circle for the year — a chance to reconnect, meet new students and begin building strong relationships for the year ahead. Students also enjoyed decorating flat rocks that will form part of our school’s upcoming Begonia Festival Float. We are incredibly proud to be representing Woodmans Hill Secondary College in this community event and can’t wait to see our creative contributions come to life.

2026 is already shaping up to be another busy and exciting year filled with culture, connection and opportunity. I look forward to supporting our students as they continue to grow in confidence, identity and their individual journeys.
