Welcome back to all of our students and a very warm welcome to our new families joining us this year. We are excited to begin another year of learning, growth, and opportunity. Whether your child is starting their first year with us or entering their final year of secondary school, we are committed to supporting every student to achieve their personal best.
The beginning of the year is always an important time to establish strong routines, positive learning habits, and clear goals. We encourage all students to start the year with focus and determination, take pride in their efforts, and seek support whenever they need it. Strong partnerships between school and home are essential, and we thank our parents and carers for your ongoing support.
NAPLAN - Year 7 & 9
The NAPLAN assessments will take place from Wednesday 11th – Monday 23rd March 2026 for students in Years 7 and 9.
NAPLAN assesses student progress in:
Reading
Writing
Conventions of Language (spelling, grammar and punctuation)
Numeracy
In the coming weeks, teachers will ensure students are familiar with the online format and comfortable with the types of questions they may encounter. NAPLAN is just one snapshot of student progress, and we encourage students to simply try their best and approach the assessments with confidence.
Further information, including timetables, can be found on compass.
If you don't want your child participating in NAPLAN it is important that an official withdrawal form is filled out and handed to the front office – this needs to be done before NAPLAN starts. If you have any questions please contact our front office staff or email me.
Looking Ahead
We are incredibly optimistic about the year ahead. Our focus remains on high-quality teaching, strong relationships, and creating a positive learning environment where every student can thrive.
We wish all students and families a successful and rewarding 2026. Let’s make it a fantastic year!
