Department Report 

We've kicked off a to a great start in the Humanities Key Learning Area, it's been great to meet new students and explore the social world with them.  

Our Year 7s have been exploring liveability in Ballarat and around the world, gathering geographical datasets to explain why people live where they live.  

Year 8 students have begun their Middle Ages history unit, unpacking the experiences of peasants through the Black Death and how the world was changing around them. Mila has gone above and beyond to make this amazing poster to describe their lives and experiences.  

Year 9 have been introduced the first World War and the experiences of Australians abroad and at home.  

Lastly, Year 10 studentshave been exposed to some of the dark areas of human history, unpacking the Holocaust and its lasting impacts. We will soon be using our time to unpack and plan for Work Experience so I encourage you to check in with any year 10s to chat about what they're planning!
