Hands on Learning Report

Written by Lachy Ellen 9C Hands on Learning Student

First day back of Hands on Learning 2026 was exciting. There were 5 new people who were fun, cool and chill.

We have a new Hands on Learning home and I like it way better than last year, it's more private and the room is more spacious. In the morning we set up the tables the way we liked and we moved in our fridge, microwave and air fryer – just in time for chicken tender wraps for lunch. I got to try vegan 'chicken' tenders and they were way better than the actual chicken ones.

We celebrated the one and only Lily's birthday. We had a white mud cake with candles for morning tea.

We played some rope games which included team work, effort and communication. At first we got tangled but in the end we made it through.

We did some gardening and some wood work. Some of the newbies have pretty awesome skills on the tools.

We have some things planned for the term like fried rice and dim sims for lunch next week and inviting our favorite guest. Also we are planning on finishing the garden of the gathering place which surrounds the yearning circle (built by Hands on Learning 2023).

I'm really looking forward to getting to know the new people and doing some amazing projects in Hands on Learning this year.
