Home Group Report

Gabi Dumesny

What is Home Group?

Home Group is an important part of our school day. It is a dedicated time where students connect with their Home Group teacher and peers in a smaller, supportive setting. This time is designed to build positive relationships, strengthen wellbeing, and help students develop important personal and learning skills.

Throughout the year, Home Group sessions focus on:

  • Goal setting and reflection

  • Organisation and study skills

  • Wellbeing and respectful relationships

  • School values and community building

  • Key information and upcoming events

Home Group provides students with a consistent adult mentor who monitors their progress, checks in on their wellbeing, and supports them to stay organised and on track.

Student Goals on Compass

In the coming weeks, student learning and personal development goals will be published on Compass. These goals are an important part of helping students take ownership of their growth and reflect on their progress.

We encourage parents and carers to:

  • Log in to Compass and review your child’s goals together

  • Discuss what the goals mean and why they are important

  • Ask your child about the practical steps they planned to achieve their goal

  • Revisit the goal regularly throughout the term

Having conversations at home about goals reinforces the work being done at school and helps students stay motivated and accountable.

Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting your child’s learning and wellbeing.
