VCE Report
Claire Blower
Welcome back to all of our VCE students. It has been a fantastic start to the year, and I want to acknowledge the positive tone, focus and maturity that our VCE cohorts have already demonstrated.
This year, my role has evolved, and the VCE and VCE VM programs are now supported separately. I will be working solely with our VCE students, which means I am able to dedicate my time and attention specifically to supporting you through your VCE journey.
Mrs Fox will be working with the VCE VM Program which is great!
I am very proud of the way our Year 11 and Year 12 students have begun the year — particularly the purposeful and productive way study periods are already being used. It has been great to see students using this time meaningfully to revise, complete coursework, seek feedback and collaborate responsibly.
Please remember that I am available to support you with anything related to your learning. Whether you need guidance with strengthening study habits, creating or refining a study schedule, managing workload, or discussing any accommodations you may require in Year 11 or Year 12, my door is always open. Reaching out early can make a significant difference. Making sure balanced habits are adopted that are sustainable throughout the year is integral to VCE success and avoid stress, overwhelm and burnout.
Our new Study Centre is open each morning from 8:30am and remains open until approximately 4:00–4:30pm most afternoons. If students wish to remain at school later to continue studying, please communicate this with me or the senior school year level leaders — we are often here beyond these hours and we will do our best to support dedicated study time where possible when given advanced notice.
Finally, congratulations to Joel Maddern on being appointed as the Student VCE Leader for 2026. This is an important student leadership role representing the VCE cohort. Joel will be a key voice for students, so please connect with him regarding ideas, feedback or anything related to student voice within the VCE space. Joel and I are also working towards launching our first Homework Club this term. This will provide another structured opportunity for support and collaborative learning with students and staff, so please watch this space for further details.
I am looking forward to continuing to work alongside you this year and supporting you to achieve your personal best. Let’s keep building on this strong start.
