Principal & School Council President Report

After our School Council AGM, we are pleased to announce our School Council President, David Loci, and vice-president, Kashif Hussain, will be serving for another year. Thank you for both leaders for their work to date and into the future!

School Council continues to work diligently to serve and represent the interests of the Melba College community. Comprised of a dedicated mix of parents and school staff, the council plays an important role in ensuring that a broad range of perspectives inform the school’s direction. Members of School Council are approachable and welcome conversations with families who may wish to share ideas, raise concerns, or discuss opportunities for improvement.

The work of School Council is wide-ranging. This includes carefully monitoring school finances, working collaboratively on policy development, and representing the school across key areas of governance. We meet approximately twice per term, typically on the last Tuesday of the month, and welcome submissions from members of the Melba community for consideration.

A key focus of our work has been advocating for Stage 3 of the Melba College rebuild, ensuring it delivers high-quality, future-focused facilities. Through strong partnership and ongoing collaboration, we remain committed to strengthening our school and achieving the best outcomes for all students.
