It was wonderful meeting our 2026 Year 7 students during Turbo Time. The session provided a brief introduction to what the Library offers, both academically and socially, as well as the expectations we have for students when visiting the space. Students were invited to locate “fun facts” strategically placed around the Library, which guided them through the physical layout and helped them identify essential resources that will support their learning.
Year 7 and 8 students are timetabled into the Library every two weeks. This change of environment provides a quieter space for students to focus on their learning, while also giving them the opportunity to borrow books and complete writing in their Reader’s Notebooks. Rolling PowerPoint displays highlight our new titles and include a glossary of terms that students are encouraged to use in writing their own reviews -

Library clubs have been very well attended. Both Anime Club and Dungeons & Dragons have required two sessions to accommodate the large number of students interested in participating. Boards games, cards and chess remain popular with students.

Working in a library is full of surprises. We seem to have our own little Banksy, quietly leaving delightful drawings around the library—thankfully Blu Tacked rather than graffitied.
