The start to our 2026 has been a big one! Our VCE cohort of Year 11 and 12 students have been developing new study skills, establishing routines, completing the first of their (unfortunately) many assessments, and making lasting memories as they move through their final years of school.
While much of the focus for our VCE students has been on routine, rigour, and academic progress, there have also been some exciting experiences throughout the term.
Our Year 11 cohort have been working closely with Miss Luiyf and Ms Ravs to build effective study habits. They have been learning how to plan their study schedules, develop new strategies, and set themselves up for success across all subject areas.
Our Year 12 students have been proudly wearing their jackets as they walk the halls in their final year. They have been working diligently and have now completed their first assessments for each of their subjects.
We also held our first Senior Sport Day, where many students represented Melba in volleyball, with each team achieving some great wins. Speaking of sport, we are looking forward to the upcoming Year 12s vs Teachers volleyball match on the final Monday of the term. It promises to be a competitive game—our Year 12s are particularly skilled—but I’m sure the teachers will rise to the challenge. Stay tuned for the results!
Our first STRIVE Assembly for the term will take place in the final week, where we will recognise students for their teamwork across all subject areas. Keep an eye out—you may see your child acknowledged for the excellent teamwork they have demonstrated this term.
That’s all for now. I’m sure next term will be even more jam-packed with events and opportunities!
