Year 11 Report
Rebecca Dawes
It has been a positive and productive start to the year for our Year 11 cohort. Students have settled well into the demands of their VCE and VCE VM subjects, demonstrating a growing sense of responsibility and commitment to their learning.
Throughout the term, students from both VCE and VCE VM have begun completing their first SACs, marking an important step in their senior school journey. It has been pleasing to see many students approach these assessments with focus and maturity, developing effective study habits and building confidence in managing their workload.
Beyond the classroom, students have been actively involved in school life. The Swimming and Athletics Carnivals were a highlight, with a number of Year 11 students not only competing but also showing great school spirit by attending and supporting their peers. Special mention to Jacob and Arabella who went on to represent our school in the Eureka swimming competition.
It has also been fantastic to see several students representing the school in a range of other sporting opportunities. A particular mention to our Senior boys Volleyball team (Max, Dom, Kannich, Tom, Nic, Cooper and Nixen) who came third, and our senior girls Volleyball team, who finished first and will go on to compete at the Greater Western Region event. Wishing Ronyel and Mia and the rest of the team all the best for this!

A particular highlight of this Term was the badge ceremony, where we recognised students who have stepped into Leadership roles. Within the Year 11 cohort, we would like to congratulate London , Ebi and Mia on their appointments as House Captains, Saskia and Maddy as Year 11 Senior School Leaders, and Arabella as Pride Leader. We commend these students for their willingness to lead and contribute positively to our school community.

Student Shout Outs
Charlotte 11C – Student of the week for our Week 7 assembly!
Jacob 11A and Arabella 11C - Congratulations to these students, who represented Woodmans Hill Secondary College at the Eureka Division Swimming Carnival. They represented the school and themselves extremely well, demonstrating school values in and out of the pool. Well done!
Maddison 11E - Well done for participating in the Fuel Leadership Summit 2026. It was amazing to see you dive in head first into all the activities, working in your groups and planning how to make impact here at Woodmans Hill Secondary College. It was wonderful to see how respectful you were in your interactions with the presenters and students from other schools.
We are proud of the way the Year 11 cohort has embraced the transition into Senior School, and we look forward to seeing their continued growth and success as the year progresses. We encourage all students to maintain this strong start by staying organised, seeking support when needed, and continuing to apply themselves to their studies going in to Term 2.
Have a safe and enjoyable Easter and holidays!
