Junior School  Report

Jocelyn Gepp

As we move through the final weeks of term, it has been incredibly rewarding to reflect on what has been a vibrant and highly engaging time for our Junior School. There has been a great deal happening across all year levels, and it has been pleasing to see students embracing the many opportunities available to them both inside and outside the classroom.

Our Welcome BBQ saw many of our new Year 7 families coming together, which was a fantastic opportunity to build connections between students, families, and staff. Establishing these strong partnerships early has been key in supporting a smooth and positive transition into secondary school, and it was wonderful to see our community come together in such a welcoming and inclusive way.

Student participation and school spirit have been on full display through a number of whole-school events. Our Athletics Day was a highlight, with students demonstrating enthusiasm, resilience, and outstanding house pride. It was particularly pleasing to see the level of encouragement students showed towards one another, reinforcing the strong sense of community within our Junior School.

In addition, our students have represented the school with pride in Year 9/10 Volleyball, showcasing teamwork, commitment, and sportsmanship. Opportunities like these play an important role in building confidence and strengthening connections across year levels.

Within the classroom, our Year 7 and 9 students have approached NAPLAN with maturity and focus. We commend them for their efforts and the positive attitude they demonstrated throughout the testing period. Experiences such as these are an important part of their learning journey and provide valuable insight into their progress.

Our Year 7 Swimming Program has also been a great success, with students developing confidence in the water while building important life skills. It has been fantastic to see students challenge themselves and support one another throughout the program.

Looking ahead, we are excited for our upcoming Year 7 Camp, which will provide further opportunities for students to build relationships, develop independence, and create lasting memories. Camps are a significant part of the Junior School experience and often become a highlight of the year for many students.

As the term draws to a close, we also look forward to a well-earned break over the school holidays, providing students with time to rest, recharge, and prepare for the next stage of the year.

Overall, it has been a highly successful and productive term for our Junior School. While there has already been a great deal achieved, there is still much to look forward to across the remainder of the year. We are proud of the way our students continue to engage with their learning, represent the school, and contribute positively to our community.
