12 VCAL Senior PDS Projects 

Basketball Tournament: On 6/4/22

The VCAL Senior PDS class has completed an impressive term’s work with the planning and implementation of 3 Major community projects. Mr Martin’s PDS Senior class worked hard to make the events viable and tailored to student's interests with all students demonstrating a high level of commitment to the success and rationale of the projects. 

Students excelled in the promotional aspects by hitting their target audience and demonstrated professional communication to facilitate the aims of their chosen projects. 

Students established teams, created scoring charts, studied logistics and developed costings and event viability demonstrating leadership and social responsibility. Students delivered 3 highly engaging events which encouraged healthy participation by students and established inclusion and participation in a social sport that promoted wellbeing across the whole school. Student’s planning was articulate and demonstrated great business skills, raising $600 which provided funds for a charity of their choice.

 A big thank you to all VCAL staff for developing, facilitating, attending and supporting the student’s projects, Library staff Neal McIntosh for support with promotional printing and College Ops (Hannah Atkinson) to make the events happen. Students have commented on the diversity and challenge of VCAL subjects and the relevance to employability.

VCAL Pizza Fundraiser 

Taimua, Laria, Xavier, Balyot, Jaskaran, Jacinta and Ryan created a pizza fundraiser on the 6th of April to fundraise money for the Salvation Army. As a team, we set goals for ourselves to plan, implement and build a strong project that is aimed at benefiting the community. We raised approximately $200 by selling slices of pizza and cans of drinks. The students and teachers were very supportive of the fundraiser donating more money than the prices of their purchases. Congratulations to all participating students on a successful project. We would like to thank all staff who supported us in creating and delivering this project.
