Senior School

On Friday 25th of February, our school was lucky enough to host Darren Pereira and his lovely team for VCE success strategies, for all year 12s. After this, his excellent leadership qualities were able to be passed on to year 11 and 12 leadership captains. As one of the college vice-captains, I found this lesson worthwhile and an amazing opportunity to further extend my horizons. Our 2-hour lesson was informative and educative, in my opinion, a bit short, nonetheless, the lessons that we learned will inspire all leaders and change the definition of leadership. “We made leadership something greater than us, but it is not it’s something that we do every day, whether its opening doors for someone, helping someone with their work, checking up on someone or taking the initiative. These are all aptitudes and signs of leadership, but when we work together, leadership can benefit a larger cohort. We would like to thank Darren Pereira and his team at success integrated for the mesmerizing day.

It has been a busy and exciting term but it has also been the first term in two years that the College has been onsite together for the whole term.  Our Year 12 students are applying themselves to their studies and also getting involved in College life.  The Swimming Carnival was an opportunity for connection and reconnection and the students thoroughly enjoyed the day with some great costumes.

The work the Senior Student Leadership Team has done to strengthen connections across the College has been great to see and they are to be congratulated for running the Graduation night for the year 12 class of 2021.  Our College Captains hosted the evening and they did an outstanding job!  They have also organised  sport events during the term, including the teachers vs students basketball match.  The students won by a considerable margin!

The senior school information night meet and greet was a successful night, during which, the extraordinary talents of our music students were showcased in their performance with the senior school band.  Congratulations to our very dedicated Music staff for their ability to bring out the best in our students.   Thank you to the staff, families, and students who attended.

The year 11 and 12 students have participated in a goal-setting workshop aiming to inspire them to aim high and to equip them with strategies to meet their goals.  They were asked about the choices and decisions that they make in years 11 and 12 and how to make the year better, easier, and more productive.
