Facilities and Grounds upgrades

Over the past few years we have been working to create an environment for students that is welcoming and safe, and one that we can all be proud of.

The garden projects are continuing, and with a mild summer, many of our gardens have flourished. Providing attractive grounds with many smaller areas that students can use is important so that everyone can find a place to relax and enjoy their friendships.  The native plants are beginning to bring in small native birds, including honeyeaters and wrens to add to our visiting rosellas and lorikeets, and grass parrots.

We have built new locker bay areas outside, removing lockers from most corridor areas and thus reducing congestion in these spaces, and students are able to more freely access their belongings.

In addition to our main toilet facilities upgrades that took place over the 2022 summer break, we are building two new sets of toilets. Over this autumn break, the senior school is being renovated to include two non-gender-specific toilets. This will provide students with extra facilities to use during class time.

Students were asked which other areas of the school they would like to see upgraded and their responses included new basketball rings, new furniture in classrooms, and some under-cover sports areas.  We currently have a project that has recently been approved to build a large cover over the netball courts next to the gym. We are hoping the building will begin later this year.

Our canteen area is also in need of work, and we are hoping to build a covered cafe area that students can use that will keep them dry and warm during the wet and cold weather. A proposal is being developed and we hope to begin this work later in the year.
