Rehersals are in full swing
Over the last few weeks in Performing Arts, we have marked some big cultural events! We’ve sung a Chinese Folk song, “MoLi Hua” as part of discussion on Lunar New Year, and to acknowledge Ramadan we sang a favourite children’s song from Morocco.
Years 5 and 6 have been exploring folk music, dance and culture that has come to Australia from around the world. We have started learning an Italian Folk song, and have enjoyed learning an energetic folk dance from Russia called the “Troika”
At Errol Street, lunchtime clubs are continuing with a focus on music - Xylophone Group and Choir are rehearsing pieces to share with families at our School Picnic at the end of Term 1. Ukulele club is underway with lots of Grade 4s and 5s keen to participate. We’re establishing our fundamentals, strumming up a storm and will be finding opportunities to perform as the year goes on.
