Year 10 Report
Keele Hillas
It has been another busy and exciting few weeks for our Year 10 students, with many fantastic opportunities taking place across the cohort.
Our Year 10 VM students have been working incredibly hard in preparation for the Mother’s Day Stall. Students were involved in creating, organising, packing, and selling items, demonstrating excellent teamwork, communication, and customer service skills throughout the process. It has been wonderful to see students take pride in their work and contribute positively to our school community.
We are also finalising preparations for the upcoming Work Experience Program. This is an exciting opportunity for all Year 10 students to explore future career pathways, build workplace confidence, and develop valuable employability skills. We encourage families to continue supporting students in organising their placements and required paperwork. Work experience takes place from Monday 15th - Friday 19th of June.
A huge congratulations also goes to Grace, Bonnie, and Sami, who represented our school as part of the Senior Volleyball Team at the State Volleyball Tournament last week. The girls demonstrated excellent teamwork, commitment to training most days, and sportsmanship while competing at a high level against schools from across the state. We are incredibly proud of their efforts. Well done girls!

We would also like to congratulate Ryan on his outstanding achievement in the recent chess competition held at Kryal Castle earlier this term. Ryan demonstrated excellent strategic thinking, persistence, and sportsmanship throughout the competition and has successfully qualified for the State Championships. This is a fantastic accomplishment, and we wish him the very best for the next stage of competition.
Looking ahead, we are excited to celebrate National Careers Week. Throughout the week, students will have the opportunity to engage with guest speakers, participate in Job Jumping activities, and attend a range of industry talks. These experiences are designed to help students broaden their understanding of future pathways and inspire them to start thinking about their goals beyond school.
We would also like to acknowledge the continued positive attitude and effort shown by our Year 10 students throughout the term. We look forward to the many exciting opportunities still to come this year.
