Year 12 Report

Claire Blower

We’re already well into Term 2, and it’s been fantastic to see so much engagement and effort from you all Year 12's. Here’s a quick look at what’s been happening and what’s coming up:

Term Highlights:

  • The VCE VM classes put on an amazing Mother's Day and Motherly Figures afternoon tea for their own families and the families of the Year 7's. It was a well organised and ran event and the students did it all on their own! Well done guys!

  • We have had Mikala from Branch Out Mentoring coming out to the school to teach our Year 12's who have opted in to the program about Adulting, Finance, Housing and Scholarships. We have had our first two sessions and we have all (including Miss B) learnt a lot so far. Mikala will be back next week on Wednesday at lunch time to teach us about Housing and anyone is welcome to attend.

  • The Year 12 VCE VM students went on their hike recently. I was lucky enough to join them for the last 6km (not the massive 24K's everyone else did!), and their resilience and teamwork were incredible to witness. Ending the hike with meal at the pub in Creswick was a well-earned treat! I’m looking forward to seeing your vlogs soon.

Upcoming:

  • We still have some awesome events coming up this term including our Last Science Lesson, Dress up Day 2 (recreate an iconic childhood photo), Ten Pin Bowling wellbeing excursion and the Senior Social (your last one!)

Reminders:

  • Year 12 Jumpers: These are available for purchase at $99, with payment due by Friday 22nd May via Compass pay, cash or EFTPOS via the front office. If you have any questions or concerns with this please contact Miss B as soon as possible. We’re hoping that the jumpers will be ready by the end of term if we stick to our timelines.

  • Grad Events: Information and Expressions of Interest for all Year 12 Graduation events will be shared soon via a Google Form with the year 12's. Keep an eye on Compass for the details.

  • Prep Photo's: Please start searching through the archives to find a prep photo in preparation for Graduation! We would prefer this to be the official prep school photo if possible, however, if this cannot be found, any head shot from your childhood where we can tell it is you is fine! These need to be submitted to Miss B or Hayley in the Senior School Office via email or in person whenever you can between now and the end of term.

Thank you for all your efforts so far this term, and let’s keep the momentum going!
