Year 7 Report

Emily Beale

It has been a busy and positive few weeks for our Year 7 students as they continue to settle into secondary school routines and expectations. It has been pleasing to see students building confidence in their classes, developing positive friendships, and becoming more familiar with school processes and expectations.

Students should be commended for the way they have approached their learning throughout the term. Many students have now settled well into their classes and are continuing to develop their organisation, independence, and learning habits as assessment tasks and classroom expectations increase throughout the year.

As we head further into the colder months, we ask families to please ensure students are attending school in the correct winter uniform and are dressed warmly each day. Wearing the appropriate uniform helps students remain comfortable, focused, and prepared for learning throughout the school day.

Parent - Teacher - Student Conversations will be held on Thursday 28th May, with bookings available online through Compass. These interviews provide a valuable opportunity to discuss student progress, celebrate successes, and identify ways we can continue supporting students throughout the year. Please note that bookings for these interviews will close on Tuesday the 26th of May at 3:00pm.

Families can continue supporting students by regularly checking Compass and emails, discussing upcoming learning tasks, and encouraging positive study and organisation routines at home. We also remind students of the importance of maintaining strong attendance habits, as regular attendance plays a significant role in both learning and wellbeing.

It was also wonderful to see so many mothers, grandmothers, and special motherly figures attend our recent Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea. The event provided a lovely opportunity for students and families to connect and celebrate the important people in their lives. Thank you to all who attended and helped make the afternoon such a positive and enjoyable occasion for our school community.

Thank you to families for your ongoing support throughout the term. We are proud of the positive start our Year 7 students have made and look forward to continuing to see their growth and success across the remainder of the year.
