It’s been a busy and creative time in the Art rooms this term!
Our Year 7 students have been exploring the Archibald Prize, learning about portraiture and the stories artists tell through their work. They are now beginning to plan their own painted portraits, developing ideas that reflect identity, personality and creative expression.
In Year 8, students have been getting hands-on with lino printing, learning how to design, carve and print their own artworks. It’s been fantastic to see their confidence grow as they experiment with this new process.
Meanwhile, our Year 12 students are hard at work preparing their final pieces. There’s a strong sense of focus and determination as they refine their ideas and bring their folios to completion.
It’s also wonderful to see our Art teachers continuing their own creative practice beyond the classroom. Recently, Jess Schroeder was involved with the Ballarat Printmakers exhibition, highlighting the vibrant artistic community we are proud to be part of.
We look forward to sharing more of our students’ work as the term progresses!
