Connect Crew

What a fantastic week we have had in Connect! It has been wonderful to see students across all crews building stronger connections, developing practical skills, and working together to make a positive impact within both our school and the wider community.
Several crews have been focusing on team-building activities, encouraging students to strengthen communication, cooperation, and problem-solving skills. These activities have provided students with opportunities to support one another, step outside their comfort zones, and develop confidence while working as part of a team.
Crew 6 has been hard at work revitalising our vegetable garden, showing great teamwork and responsibility throughout the process. Students worked together to prepare garden beds, plant strawberries, and improve the overall space for the new growth of vegetables and fruits. It has been fantastic to see students take pride in caring for the environment while learning valuable hands-on skills around gardening, sustainability, and collaboration.
Despite the chilly mornings, Crew 7 demonstrated outstanding dedication and resilience while repairing potholes in the staff car park. Students approached the task with maturity and focus, learning the importance of workplace safety, teamwork, and effective communication. They showed excellent responsibility while using tools and equipment safely and correctly, as well as developing practical maintenance skills that can be transferred into future workplace settings.
Meanwhile, Crew 5 has embraced the exciting challenge of restoring old furniture and giving it a new lease on life. Students have been sanding, repairing, and preparing pieces that will be transformed into a community library for the local kindergarten. This project has encouraged creativity, patience, and attention to detail, while also reinforcing the importance of working safely and effectively with tools and materials. Most importantly, students are learning the value of giving back to the community and the positive impact their efforts can have on others.
It has been an incredible week filled with teamwork, responsibility, resilience, and hands-on learning. We are extremely proud of the way our students continue to support one another, challenge themselves, and contribute positively to our school community.
