House Cross Country

On Wednesday 6 May, we held our annual House Cross Country Carnival at Lewis Park. Despite the chance of rain, we pushed on and saw some magnificent racing. 

We had over 200 students run which is an incredible amount! I’d like to thank all staff and students involved for their effort in running another successful carnival. The quality of cross country runners at Wantirna College is outstanding and we will have a strong team at Division next week. 

Congratulations to our following age group champions – they will be presented with trophies later this year:

12-13 Year Female – Ava Newton 

12-13 Year Male – Lucas Brown 

14 Year Female - Chloe Grund 

14 Year Male – Lukas Nguyen 

15 Year Female - Georgia Zabilowicz 

15 Year Male – Oscar Magalotti 

16 Year Female - Kiera Moroney 

16 Year Male – Harry Hayes 

17-20 Year Female - Isabella Lawler 

17-20 Year Male – William Briddock 

A special shout out goes to Chloe Grund who ran the fastest time of the day, running the 3km course in 10:17! An amazing effort by Chloe. 

Congratulations to Mason House on their victory! All House points earned will be added to the House board in the Mooroop Centre, and earn vital points towards the House Cup.  

1st Place Mason House 292 Points

3rd Place Byrne House 268 Points 

4th Place Collier House 212 Points 

We now head to Knox Division Cross Country on Tuesday 19 May, congratulations to those who made the team. After winning the Knox Division Swimming earlier this year, and winning the Division Championship last year, we are hoping for another strong performance from our cross-country runners!
