Netball Tournament
Sport
Our Senior and Intermediate Netball teams recently competed in one-day tournaments, proudly representing our school with enthusiasm, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day.
The senior girls achieved excellent results across the competition, finishing in second place behind Rowville Sports, as well as securing third and fifth place finishes.
The intermediate girls teams had a mixed results day, with one team only falling short in the grand final! These achievements reflected the hard work and commitment shown by all teams throughout the day.
Across all matches, the girls demonstrated what school netball is truly about — supporting one another, showing determination on the court, and enjoying every opportunity to play together. Reports from staff and spectators highlighted the positive attitude displayed by all players, with the team encouraging each other and competing with great spirit in every game.
While results are always important, the highlight of the day was the way the girls conducted themselves both on and off the court. Their commitment, teamwork and enjoyment of the game reflected our school values wonderfully.
A particular shoutout to our year 12 girls who played their final interschool netball competition. You wanted to make the day about each other and enjoying this last netball day, and you did that. It was such a pleasure to see the laughter and connections that you have amongst you, and this was mentioned by the umpire’s other school’s staff!
Congratulations to all players for representing our school so fabulously and for making the tournament such a positive and enjoyable experience.
In the lead up to our Netball competition, many staff volunteered their time to play in a staff vs student game. A special thank you to Jack Hawkes, Amber Thompson, Gemma Bristowe, Mackenzie Le Fevre, Melissa Wade, Lisa Jones, Brodie Martin, Jasper Thornton, Tadhg Redfern, Matthew Burleigh, Candice Richardson and Josephine Wu for participating.
Also, a special mention to Jack Hawkes for organising the event and handling many last-minute changes, as well as enduring a bus ride with 24 singing netballers!
