Every Monday evening, Riley Higgins' mum drives him to Upwey for his rehearsals with the Dandenong Ranges Orchestra. Amazingly, he has never missed a rehearsal and is always on time, despite the family juggling sibling commitments! Being part of an external community ensemble has helped Riley develop his playing skills and confidence.
I started playing the double bass in Year 7, and since then it has become a really important part of my life. Learning such a unique instrument has helped me build confidence, patience, and teamwork through music. Being part of the Dandenong Ranges Orchestra means a lot to me because it gives me the chance to perform with talented musicians, improve my skills, and be part of a supportive musical community. I am also very proud to play alongside Ms Osborne and Mrs Newstead, whose support and encouragement have made my experience even more meaningful.

All of our ensembles and dance students are featured across five exciting and varied concerts. We'd love to see family and friends supporting not only their own students but also all of our hard working students.
A short poem by Danny van Bergen
It went well.
It was a full house.
It was a very, very late night.
I was proud of our students.
Good job.
