Winner of the Julian Gurrieri Memorial Award

Zaina – Winner of the Julian Gurrieri Memorial Award for Bayside Youth Participation⁠⁠We are proud to celebrate the achievements of our Year 11 student, Zaina, who was awarded the Julian Gurrieri Memorial Award for Bayside Youth Participation at the 2025 Bayside Youth Awards, held recently at the Sandringham Yacht Club.⁠⁠

The biennial Bayside Youth Awards recognise exceptional young people aged 10 to 25 who have made significant contributions to the local community across five award categories. This year’s awards received 93 nominations for 57 inspiring young individuals, submitted by schools, families, sports clubs, youth services, and community organisations.⁠⁠Zaina was acknowledged for her outstanding commitment as a Bayside Youth Ambassador (BYA), where she has served with dedication for over two years. She has played an active role in shaping local initiatives demonstrating strong leadership, confidence, and a passion for youth advocacy.⁠⁠

In addition to her work with BYA, Zaina has also taken on leadership responsibilities within the Boombox Events Committee, helping to design and deliver inclusive and engaging events for young people throughout the Bayside community.⁠⁠
