White Water Kayaking & Caving

On Thursday, May 8th, the IB2 class embarked on an adventurous excursion to Wonga, where students took part in white water kayaking and caving.
The day began with a bus ride to Wonga, followed by preparations for the white-water kayaking activity. The river presented its fair share of challenges, with several students getting stuck on rocks and needing to climb out and push their kayaks forward. Fortunately, the warm weather made it easy to dry off before heading into the caves. The caves proved to be a significant challenge for everyone, as the dingey tight space was not as appealing as we anticipated. However, the class participated enthusiastically, challenging themselves to push their boundaries.
This excursion was organized as part of the Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) component of the IB Diploma Programme. CAS encourages students to step outside their comfort zones and engage in experiences that promote personal growth. Activities like kayaking and caving provided the perfect opportunity to do just that.
Overall, the day was a memorable and rewarding experience. It strengthened teamwork, fostered resilience, and helped students push their physical and mental boundaries.
