Level Two

Level Two students have had a busy start to Term 1. In Phonics, students have been learning about digraphs and trigraphs. 

In Reading, students have been learning about the comprehension strategy of Visualising and completed activities linked to our class novel, George's Marvellous Medicine, our Theme unit and Poetry. 

In Writing, they have created their own Haikus, Shape poems and created their own recounts on a special memory. 

In Maths, they have played a range of place value games and explored Data and Graphing. This week, students attended the Swimming Program at Surrey Park Swim School. In Theme, students have been enjoying the Great Inventions unit and are looking forward to the Toys Over Time Incursion. 

Level 2 students also enjoyed a visit from Healthy Harold during Week 4. Students learnt how to form positive relationships with peers.  During the session, students thought about how to resolve common problems that can occur on the playground.  Students were able to share lots of different ideas about how to make new friends at school as well as the qualities of a being a good friend.

A reminder to please support your child in completing their weekly homework activities. These tasks help reinforce the learning we are doing in class and build strong study habits.

Each week, students are expected to complete:

• Weekly Spelling List
• Mathletics Tasks
• Decodable Reading Passage

• Nightly Take‑Home Reader Log
