Mental Health and Wellbeing

Hi DPS Community,
For those of you I have not yet met, my name is Mr Johnson and this year I will be the Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader at Doncaster Primary School. Supporting students to achieve their personal best and develop strong interpersonal skills has always been a passion of mine, and I feel grateful for the opportunity to further strengthen and promote positive mental health and wellbeing within our wonderful school.
I will be working closely with teachers to promote a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing, ensuring we continue to build a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for all students.
Term 1 Start-
I would like to congratulate our students on the positive way they have started the year. They have demonstrated inclusive behaviour in the playground and consistently showcased the expected behaviours from our School Wide Positive Behaviour Matrix.
I would also like to acknowledge the commitment of our classroom teachers, school principals, specialist teachers and education support staff. The way they build personal connections and rapport with students has been outstanding. I have had the pleasure of seeing this firsthand while working across every classroom already.
School Wide Positive Behaviour Captains
Congratulations to Kirstan and Liyanna, who will be our SWPB Captains this year.
I would also like to congratulate the student leaders Elina, Aleeza R, Alina A, Giselle, and Kaya who will be supporting wellbeing initiatives alongside them throughout the year.
