Level Four

This term, our Level 4 students have been engaged in exciting and meaningful learning across all subject areas.
READER'S WORKSHOP
In Reader’s Workshop, students have been developing their visualising skills. They have been practising creating pictures in their minds while reading a variety of texts. By exploring interesting descriptive vocabulary and focusing on the five senses, students have strengthened their ability to clearly imagine characters and settings in their independent “IPICK” books. This has helped deepen their understanding and enjoyment of the stories they read.
MATHEMATICS
In Mathematics, students have been learning about data collection and representation. They designed their own survey questions, gathered data from their peers, and organised their results. Students then created bar graphs and pictographs to clearly display and interpret the information they collected.
WRITING
In Writing, students have been focusing on crafting engaging and attention-grabbing “sizzling starts” for their narrative stories. They have worked hard to create introductions that hook the reader and make their stories exciting from the very first sentence.
LIFE EDUCATION
Students also had an incursion from Healthy Harold Life Ed where students learned about the body systems, healthy eating, exercise and sleep and students reflected on their own behaviours and actions and set goals for themselves to improve their overall health and wellbeing!
We are very proud of the enthusiasm and effort Level 4 students have shown throughout the term!
