Wellbeing at DPS

As we begin another exciting year at Doncaster Primary School, I would like to take this opportunity to share our continued commitment to student wellbeing. At DPS, child safety, wellbeing and inclusion remain at the centre of everything we do.

Term 1 at DPS focuses on establishing routines, building positive relationships, and creating safe, calm and predictable classroom environments. Teachers are working on clear expectations, consistent routines and smooth transitions back into school, knowing that when students feel safe, supported and connected, they are more engaged and ready to learn.

Child Safety

Child Safety at DPS is a top priority. All staff are committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for every student. We actively promote student voice, respectful relationships and a culture where every child feels valued and heard.

We are incredibly proud of the care, professionalism and dedication shown by our staff in supporting every student. We look forward to a positive and successful year ahead.

Term 1 Wellbeing Initiatives

At Doncaster Primary, student wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. This term, our focus has been on building supportive, inclusive, and positive learning environments to help every child thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

All students began the year participating in our TEAM’s (Together Everyone Achieves More) program. TEAM’s helps students set classroom expectations, build friendships and develop a sense of belonging from day one.

Our TRIBES program, run every fortnight, further supports positive relationships across the school. Through engaging activities, students learn key life skills such as teamwork, empathy, resilience and cooperation, which strengthen their social and emotional growth.

As part of our wellbeing approach, we implement the School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) framework. SWPBS ensures a safe, respectful and inclusive environment by setting clear expectations, reinforcing positive behaviours and celebrating student achievements. This framework helps all students feel supported and confident to succeed.

Together, these programs create a nurturing school community where students feel valued, supported and empowered to reach their full potential.

With so many wonderful initiatives in place, our Wellbeing Team continues to make a positive impact on the lives of our students. We look forward to sharing more upcoming events and programs that support the happiness, safety and success of our school community.

Stay tuned for more updates!
