Sport: Senior Girls Football

Our Senior Girls finished 2nd yesterday at the School Sport Victoria Upper Hume Football in Wodonga.
On the 30th Anniversary of our first Girls State Title in 1996, they opened with a strong win against Wodonga Senior SC (33-7).
Then in the grand final v Cathedral, we were just 6 points down at half time, but lost by 18.
Led by Rovers footballer Abbey Waide as Captain, the team was powered by a strong Engine Room of all-round Sports Girls including:
Milly O’Kane (2025 Netball Victoria U17 State Netball team, Magpies A Grade B&F, multiple-time League B&F).
The Christison sisters Claire (2025 Wangaratta City FC Division 1 B&F and Captain) and Isabelle (AWFA rep and 2026 Lady Devils Captain).
The Driscoll sisters Jedda & Stevie (Yarrawonga O&M Netball) - daughters of Ovens & King 2000 Clyde Baker Medalist Shane “Disco” Driscoll.
Pieper Gottschling - sister of Hunter, former Murray Bushranger and now Geelong VFL list.
Claire and Milly were named joint winners of the Darcy Vescio Player of the Day award, named after our alumni now an AFL Women's legend for Carlton.
TOP BALL GETTERS - Claire Christison (34 disposals), Milly O’Kane (28), Jedda Driscoll (25), Isabelle Christison (20), Pieper Gottschling (19), Stevie Driscoll (16), Jasmina Scott (16).
