Promoting Kindness and Standing Against Bullying

Our school community will be recognising Do It For Dolly Day in May, a national initiative that encourages Australians to come together to stand against bullying and promote kindness, inclusion, and respect.
The day was established in memory of Dolly Everett and continues to raise awareness about the significant impact bullying can have on young people, their wellbeing, and their sense of safety. At school, we know that positive relationships and a strong sense of belonging are essential for students to thrive. Do It For Dolly Day provides an important opportunity to reinforce these values and to remind our students that kindness, empathy, and respect matter every day.
Students will be encouraged to take part by wearing blue, the colour symbolising support for the anti-bullying message, and by engaging in activities and conversations that promote:
Supporting peers who may be struggling
We also encourage families to continue these conversations at home. Talking openly with young people about friendships, online behaviour, and how to respond to bullying can make a meaningful difference. Together, we can help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every young person feels valued and connected.

We ask parents and carers to please take a moment to read the following information about cyberbullying. It explains what it is, how to recognise the signs, and ways we can work together to reduce the risk and support safe, respectful online behaviour for all students.
