Production and Dance
This year’s production of Witches?! In Salem!? was brought to life by the boundless creativity, commitment and energy of our Performing Arts students.
Highlights included the quirky characterisations of our witches, playful “witch dance battles,” and the creative leadership of our Performing Arts and Drama Captains. Our alumni, returning as mentors, alongside our dedicated Creative Crew, staff leaders, and backstage support, ensured the production reflected the true strength of our St George’s Performing Arts community.
One of the most cherished traditions in our productions is the exchange of “Warm and Fuzzies.” Each student decorated an envelope, which quickly filled with endless messages of kindness, encouragement, and gratitude from peers. This year, the tradition extended beyond the cast and crew, students even created envelopes for the local ice-cream shop staff (who generously offered cups of cold water during rehearsals) and for the theatre staff themselves. In a heartwarming gesture of support, the theatre staff surprised the students by donning witch’s hats during the final performance, joining in the fun and showing their pride in our cast. These moments of connection and kindness remind us that productions aren’t just about what happens on stage, but also the community built along the way.
Productions of this scale are only possible with the support of many. We extend heartfelt thanks to the entire creative and technical team:
A huge thank you also goes to our Parent Helpers, Mac Denton, Nicole Green, Rebecca Sugden, Jason Wilk, Maxine Wilk, Janelle Barnes-Smith, Michelle Outram, and Anna Heavey, for their invaluable contributions.
