The Final Stretch – Year 12

As we step into these last precious moments of your journey at St George’s Anglican Grammar School, it is important to pause and reflect on where you are and where you are heading. Your time as students of this community is drawing to a close and what you do now will define how you finish your school story.

This is the moment to sharpen your focus. Every choice you make in the coming weeks, whether it be staying on task in class, committing to study sessions, or setting aside distractions, will move you closer to the goals you have been working towards for years. The finish line is in sight, but to cross it with pride requires discipline, determination, and the willingness to make sacrifices in the short term for long-term success.

It is natural to feel both excitement and pressure as graduation and valedictory celebrations approach. These emotions are part of the journey, but they should fuel, not deter, your efforts. Remember, you are not walking this path alone. Your teachers and peers are here to support you. Together, you have built a community that values wisdom, grace, and service, and now is your chance to live those values by pushing through challenges with resilience and courage.

In just a short time, you will no longer be students of St George’s, but graduates – Grammarians - who carry the name with you into the world. Make these final moments count. Approach them with the same energy, drive, and spirit that has brought you this far. Strive to finish not just well, but exceptionally well so that when you look back, you will know you gave everything your very best.

The road ahead may demand sacrifice, but it will reward you with achievement, pride, and the satisfaction of knowing you ended your school journey on a high.

Stand tall, Year 12s — you are almost there.

Choosing Leaders – Year 11

Year 11, the future of St George’s is calling you. In 2026, it will be your turn to step into the shoes of our graduating class and take the reins of leadership. But before then, you hold one of the most important responsibilities of all, choosing the Student Leadership Team for 2026.

Displayed in the cafe of both campuses, and in the Laurence Library, are the vision statements of your nominated leaders. These are more than posters on a wall; they are windows into the future. Each one represents the ideas, hopes, and determination of your peers who have put themselves forward to guide our school.

This is your opportunity to pause and ask yourself: What kind of leaders do we need? St George’s needs leaders who will inspire, who will work tirelessly to strengthen our community, and who will represent us with pride in the wider world. Not just students who speak well, but those who act with integrity, stand firm in their values, and embody the spirit of Wisdom, Grace, and Service.

When you cast your vote, don’t just think about today. Think about the legacy of tomorrow. Think about the school you want to walk into next year as Year 12s, the culture you want to leave for those who follow. The leaders you choose will set that tone.

This is not a popularity contest. It is a moment to rise above friendship circles and choose those who will truly make a difference. Be bold. Be thoughtful. Choose wisely.

The power is yours, Year 11. The future is yours. And the leaders of 2026 will be the ones you decide deserve that responsibility
