Introducing Miss Giorgia Bakeberg 

With the appointment of our current Head of Year 11 & 12, Mr Tim Hayward, to the newly created promotional position of Associate Dean of School Operations from the beginning of the 2026 academic school year, we warmly welcome Miss Bakeberg to our Head of Year Pastoral Care Team and her new role as our Head of Year 11 & 12.

Miss Bakeberg is currently the Deputy Head of Boarding at Canberra Grammar School. A role that she has absolutely loved for the past three years.

A Science and Maths Teacher, Miss Bakeberg commenced her teaching career at Newman College before heading over to Canberra to extend her teaching experience. Her favourite Science areas are Human Biology & Biology; subjects she is currently teaching to HSC Level in Canberra. 

Family has drawn Miss Bakeberg back to Western Australia and she is excited to be returning home to take up this promotional pastoral care leadership opportunity. Educated in Western Australia at an Anglican School she understands the WA Curriculum and is keen to bring her many learnings from her boarding experiences to prioritise the needs of our Year 11 & 12 students next year.

Miss Bakeberg’s passion for teaching is centred around the pastoral care and wellbeing of students. She has undertaken training in Positive Education and believes strongly that a student’s wellbeing is imperative to their personal and academic success. 

When not teaching, you might find Miss Bakeberg swimming in the ocean, watching the rugby or just spending time with her many friends and family here in Western Australia.

Miss Bakeberg will join St George’s Anglican Grammar School from January 2026, just in time to get the Year 12s ready for their School Ball!
