What a term! So many sporty highlights. Who could forget our . . .
The ACC Athletics Carnivals saw a very strong performance from the St George’s Girls. The Junior Girls were awarded the Overall Junior Girls Aggregate Shield and we were also
awarded the Girls Overall Aggregate Shield. Congratulations on your success at the carnival in what was a very challenging, wet day.
All these programs and carnivals could not happen without the dedication and enthusiasm of the St George’s PE Department. This is the first year we have grown to be a department of six. I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the staff for their tireless dedication to growing and refining the PE program, making it interesting and engaging for our amazing students. We can provide the platform for the students to perform, and the best part is they grab the opportunity with both hands and really get involved. Credit to the students for always giving it their best.
Term Four will see:
Year 7 - Tennis and netball.
Year 8 - Rotating through their last softball, basketball and soccer programs.
Year 9 - Cricket and will compete in a big Super 8s Carnival.
Year 10 - An ultimate frisbee tournament.
Swimming WA Schools’ Open Water Swim Championship will see us at Coogee Beach on 21 November. Thank you to those students who have already registered an interest. Let Ms Scheele know if you would like to attend this event.
Last but not least, Rebound WA has invited us to Brookfield Place to participate in Wheelchair Basketball on 3 December. We are taking some teams from Year 8 as well as any interested basketballers. Please contact Ms Scheele if you would like to attend.
Have an active and safe holiday!
Ms Jodie Scheele
