Year 9: A new chapter

Next term Year 9s will find themselves on the cusp of a new chapter—stepping into the senior echelons of the school. With camp just around the corner, excitement is building, but so too is the importance of focus, respect and responsibility.

This term has been packed with engaging and relevant experiences. From entertaining guest speakers to thought-provoking discussions, our students have shown maturity and curiosity. A standout was the session from Bully Zero, which tackled the critical issue of cybersafety.

Their advice was clear and powerful:

1.            Don’t respond

2.            Screenshot and save everything

3.            Report it to a trusted adult or police (eSafety)

4.            Block and delete

We continue to encourage open conversations -talking is key. Whether it's about online safety or everyday challenges, support is always available here at school and my door is open to any student wishing to discuss anything.

Congratulations to all Year 9s for successfully navigating Term 3! It’s been a whirlwind of assessments, events, and growth. Now, the holidays offer a well-earned chance to recharge and reflect.

Year 10: Chasing calm

From a packed calendar of assessments and events to the exciting move into the new building, Year 10s have shown their resilience and adaptability this term. Navigating new routes and enjoying the fresh environment has added an extra degree of dynamic energy to their daily routines.

We have also welcomed several guest speakers who’ve brought valuable insights. Paul Litherland returned with his powerful message on cybersafety, reinforcing last year’s lessons and reminding students that awareness is key. His advice remains clear: lean on your trusted network, stay informed and delete any contact you have not met personally!

We wrapped up the term with a timely and impactful session from 20talk on “Chasing Calm – Anxiety Management.” As the importance of Year 10 Exams approach in Term Four, we hope students will take on board the practical techniques shared and integrate them into their daily lives. Managing stress and maintaining balance will be essential as they prepare for the final stretch of the year.

Well done on navigating a busy and transformative term.

Enjoy a safe, restful holiday, and return refreshed and ready to finish the year strong!
