Mock Exams? Tick!

A heartfelt congratulations to our Year 12 students for completing Mock Examinations, which represent a significant milestone in their academic journey and are an essential stepping stone toward final WACE Written Examinations (which begin on Tuesday, 29 October, Week 3, Term 4).

Mock exams give an insight into what lies ahead: the pacing, the pressure and the strategies needed to perform at your best. Now is the perfect time to reflect on what worked, what did not, and how you might adjust your approach for the real thing.

But first, take the first week of the holidays to rest and recover. Sleep in, go outside, spend time with family and friends, and put your books aside (for a little while!). Rest is not a luxury - it is a vital part of learning. By disconnecting now, you will come back sharper, more motivated, and ready to give your best in the final stretch.

Just Like a Grand Final

With the AFL Grand Final taking place this weekend, there is a poignant parallel to draw. In AFL history, no team that has played on Grand Final day and won has ever played together again as the same "best 22". There are always retirements, trades, or changes. In many ways, this is also true for our Year 12 cohort. These final weeks may be the last time you are all together in the same way, so savour them. Enjoy the moments, big and small, and finish the year with pride and positivity.

To our ATAR students: Continue to revise consistently, seek support where needed, and trust the process.

To our APEx students: Ensure all remaining work is completed and submitted on time. Your effort and professionalism in this final phase matter greatly.

Be ahead of the game

While Year 11 and Year 10 Semester Two examinations (Weeks 5 & 6, Term Four), may seem far off they will arrive quickly. Use some time over the break to organise your notes, reflect on your goals, and develop a manageable study routine. Setting clear, realistic goals now will ease the pressure later and help you enter Term Four with confidence and clarity.
