Art Department Report

Tegan Crosbie

It has been a vibrant and creative term in the Art Department. Our Year 11 Art Making and Exhibiting students recently visited the National Gallery of Victoria French Impressionists exhibition, where they immersed themselves in the works of Monet, Renoir and Degas. The day also included a wander through Melbourne’s iconic Hosier Lane, giving students the chance to absorb the energy and innovation of contemporary street art.

Meanwhile, our Year 12 Visual Communication Design students have reached a major milestone, delivering their final presentations. Showcasing months of dedicated work, students submitted presentation boards and models demonstrating both their technical skills and creative problem-solving whilst adhering to the constraints of a design brief.

In the junior years, students have completed a rich term of learning across both Art and Visual Communication. They have explored key skills in drawing, design, and visual storytelling, laying a strong foundation for their continued journey in the Arts.

A special thank you to our dedicated Art and Design teachers, whose passion and guidance continue to inspire students and support their creative journeys.
