Year 10 Health & Nutrition
Our Year 10 students have been busy in Health this Term, completing a range of engaging and hands-on activities as part of their Nutrition Unit.
Health Campaign Projects
As part of their studies, students researched and evaluated existing health campaigns that focuses on nutritional messaging. They explored how campaigns use slogans, visuals, and messages to influence behaviour, before planning and designing their own campaigns targeted at young people. From posters to social media posts and even video concepts, our students showed creativity and critical thinking in communicating positive health messages to their peers.
VCE:VM Students – Healthy Snack Making
Meanwhile, our Year 10 VCE:VM students took a more practical approach to nutrition by exploring healthy snack options that are simple, affordable, and tasty. Students designed, prepared, and shared their creations in class, with nachos, wraps, fruit bowls, and smoothies being some of the highlights. The activity encouraged teamwork, budgeting, and food preparation skills, while reinforcing the importance of making nutritious choices in everyday life.
This unit has not only strengthened students’ understanding of nutrition and healthy living but also encouraged them to think about how health messages are communicated to the wider community. Whether through campaign design or hands-on cooking, our Year 10's have shown determination, teamwork, and a commitment to making positive choices.
We are incredibly proud of the effort and creativity they have displayed throughout this unit.
