First Nations Student Reflections – Term 3

As Term 3 comes to a close, our First Nations mob at Woodmans Hill Secondary College have taken time for self-reflection and Yarning together about our journeys so far.

Over the past few weeks, we have been exploring our own individual mobs and cultural identities, deepening our understanding of where we come from and the importance of connection to Country, Culture and Community. These sessions have been a chance for us to share our stories, learn from one another, and strengthen our group’s sense of belonging.

We have also started to begin conversations around our future pathways and what we might like to do once we finish school. Thinking about our goals, dreams and given opportunities has been both exciting and motivating, and we look forward to continuing this work into Term 4.

We are proud of the way our group continues to show Determination, Respect and Excellence, both in our cultural journey and in our everyday school life.

I wish all the First Nations students a restful term break and can’t wait to finish off the year with a Nallei Jerring (Western Bulldogs) graduation, completing the Yarning Circle garden, and adding some more artworks and pathways activities into our program.
