Year 7 & 8

Year 7s' sensational social

 One of the highlights for our Year 7s this term was the Year 7 social. It was a fantastic evening with plenty of music, dancing, laughter and a truly impressive amount of pizza consumed! Friendships are strengthening and students are continuing to grow in their academic focus and application.

This week our Year 7 students also heard from a guest speaker on poverty and inequality. It was a valuable opportunity for students to think more deeply about the experiences of others and some of the challenges faced by people in different communities.

Year 8s bowl and belong

Our Year 8s also had their social two weeks ago, heading out for an afternoon of bowling and arcade games. It was a brilliant afternoon, with plenty of friendly competition, lots of laughs and some interesting bowling techniques on display.

This week, Year 8 students also took part in an important session delivered by Armed for Life, focusing on online safety and digital citizenship. As our students become more independent, knowing how to navigate the online world safely and responsibly is becoming increasingly important. The session explored some of the issues young people can face online, how to respond when things go wrong, and the importance of making good choices about what they share, say and do online. Families may want to speak with their child about what they learnt from this session to open up conversations about online safety at home. 

It has been a very full Term 3, and I would like to congratulate our Year 7 and 8 students on everything they have achieved. I hope everyone enjoys a well-earned break and comes back refreshed and ready for the final term of the year.
